The story is real and human and universal Just perfect in all ways...the sounds of the baby crying was amazing...the pain of the grandmother leaving and the daughter expresses this pain so poignantly.”

Story Cooking

Please check out my new project:
Story Cooking
Share a recipe that evokes a memory.

Do you crave your grandmother’s pickled beets? Remember the first time you ate a real tomato? We invite you to capture a moment linked to food, and the people who shared that food with you. Using words, pictures and sounds, we will create digital stories that invite others into our powerful, private attachments to people and food.

Digital Storytelling Workshop

Please join photographer Ellie Markovitch and writer Amy Halloran for an afternoon of food and digital storytelling.

Bring a meaningful recipe, the cooked dish, relevant photographs, and your camera. Learn how to condense the evocative experiences of cooking and eating into digital stories that will convey the depth and details of your human connections.

October 24, 2010, from 1-5 p.m. at The Sanctuary for Independent Media, 3361 Sixth Avenue, Troy, NY. Workshop fee, $40. Email or call Amy Halloran at halloran15@gmail.com or 274-5138 with questions.
